Following on from my previous post about incorporating macros into Visual Studio Extensions, it seems that Visual Studio 2013 will not run extensions compiled for Visual Studio 2012.
There's a great post here that talks about upgrading them (basically download the 2013 SDK, make a few target tweaks and recompile).
It's also interesting to note that Visual Studio 2013 does not support Add-Ins - so best to stick with extensions and upgrade them.
